Our Leadership

Mark Ernst is the founder of Ernst Enterprises, LLC, business advisors whose mission is to help business owners achieve their mission.

Mark has been the trusted advisor to CEO's and senior business leaders for over 20 years. He has an extensive background in strategic planning, budget planning and analysis, process improvement, change management, talent acquisition, development and retention, succession planning, employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, compensation and benefits, safety and security, and facilities management.

Mark earned his J.D. from DePaul University and his BA and MS from Lewis University and is an Accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business. He has completed specialized programs in Mergers & Acquisitions at UCLA; Managing Organizational Change at Stanford University;  and The Business Development Program at the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.

Mark resides in Lake Zurich, IL with his wife Nijole. They enjoy spending time together traveling abroad, boating, and motorcycle riding.

Lisa Kiefer is a Receivable/Collections Specialist. She has in-depth knowledge of the policies and practices with Accounts Receivables and Collections.

Her specialties include accounts aging, evaluating policies and developing reports to monitor collections activity. For A/R departments, Lisa assesses and trains staff to improve effectiveness.

Lisa possesses a practical, hands-on style and focuses on making concrete recommendations for organizations to implement for immediate cash flow improvements.

She has ten years of experience in A/R, and in that time has helped various organizations reduce debt by millions. Lisa previously worked for a global information services company, and also held roles in the manufacturing and architecture and design sectors.

Richard Kern has been managing IT operations in complex, data-driven organizations for more than 20 years.

He has a proven track record in all aspects of infrastructure, including hardware platforms, total software support on any platform, disaster recovery planning and exercising, security at all levels, strategic planning and execution, and Data Center Management.

Rich is effective working with the C-suite and senior management and skillfully creates highly-collaborative teams. He has excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Rich possesses a unique blend of technical knowledge and expertise in growth strategy development, strategic business planning, coordinating operations and leveraging existing partnerships. He focuses on providing the best technological environment to yield a competitive advantage.

Rich’s proven expertise spans operations management, information technology, purchasing and business development.

Rich most recently served as vice president of operations at Experian. In this position, he reported to the CIO, oversaw an extended staff of 250 and managed a budget of $39 million. While there, Rich contributed to the growth of his division from $20M in sales to over $400M.
